On Friday night I was pretty nervous because I sang in a concert with the Christchurch Symphony orchestra and with 9 other guys. It was an Irish concert complete with a small Irish band and Irish dancers from the Oniell dance school. Here I am with the irish dancers. Can you spot which one is me? …Oh and if you’re wondering, the singing was awesome ☺

Saturday is my favourite day of the week especially when it is FINALLY sunny for a change. First up I made my world famous date scones… thanks to the Edmonds Cook Book. – I know, it sounds lame but let me tell you there is nothing better than a hot scone from the oven with a little butter. mmmm Wanna make your own? Here’s the recipe.
3 cup flour
6tsp Baking Powder
pinch of salt
½ cup chopped dates
1 - 1½ cup milk
75 g butter – soft
Pre heat oven to 190 C. Sift dry ingredients then rub in butter till it looks like fine bread crumbs.
Mix in dates then add enough milk to make a soft dough. Cut the dough into fist size portion and put on baking tray Bake for about 12 min
Check out these bad boys

Then in the afternoon Serena and I went the first Canterbury rugby match of the season it was Canterbury vs Manawatu. Even though I’m from the Waikato, I’ve been living in Christchurch for 8 whole years and so we had a great time getting behind the boys in red and black. The game was tight but Manawatu walked off the field as winners on the day with the score 25-24 to them. Ah well I guess you can't win them all. Do you reckon we should play in their next game?

On top of that, on Saturday evening I Serena and went to a fancy hat party. Not quite as crowded but just as rowdy! Plus … Cupcakes!!!
Here’s a photo of us with Elise, James Lucia and Sophie
